About
At CMMS we are proud to educate students in grades 5-8. Our 5th and 6th grades students follow a schedule and mindset that supports their transition from an elementary to a mid-level mindset. Students in grades 5 and 6 will be placed onto one of 3 teams (Blue, White, or Gray). Each of the 3 teams is composed of 3 core content teachers, one for Math, ELA (English & reading), and a Science/Social Studies teacher. Students will also have special classes built into their schedules which include Physical Education, Music, Art, Library, Information Technology, and STEM. All students in grade 5 and grade 6 will be assigned a Workshop. Within the Workshop course, students will be provided with instruction in areas including Social Emotional Learning, Career Exploration, Positive Behavior & Leadership Skills, Wellness, and Organizational & Study Skills.
Our 7th and 8th grade students follow a secondary model that prepares them for the transition to high school. 7th and 8th grade students will be placed onto one of two teams (Blue or White) and will follow a block schedule for all of their content classes. All 7th and 8th graders are required to take Health/Physical Education but will also have a choice of up to 4-6 additional elective options.
At CMMS we are proud of our School-wide Positive Behavior Systems. Every student receives an ID badge at the beginning of the year and teachers reward students when we see our building expectations being met. Students can use their digital points throughout the year for grade level events, classroom prizes, reservations at the Wildcat Bistro, and even to shop at our school store, the Revolution Rack.
