Student Support

At Central Mountain Middle School, we know that students may need support for many different reasons. Some students may need help with academics, attendance, behavior, friendships, mental health, family concerns, or basic needs such as food, clothing, housing, or transportation. Whatever the concern may be, our goal is to help families know where to start and how to connect with the right support.

This page is designed to serve as a starting point for students and families who may need help. If you are unsure which support is the best fit, please contact your child’s school counselor, the school social worker, or a building administrator. We will help connect you with the right person or resource.

Safety Concerns

If a student is experiencing a mental health crisis, emotional distress, thoughts of self-harm, or needs immediate support, call or text 988 to connect with the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Students and families may also use Safe2Say Something to report school safety concerns anonymously. Safe2Say can be used when there are concerns about harm to self, harm to others, threats, violence, or other serious safety concerns.

School Concerns

When questions or concerns come up, our goal is to work together with families to support students in a respectful and timely way. The guide below can help families know who to contact first based on the concern.

If students have concerns...

Students can use the Student Incident Form to report concerns about themselves, another student, or something happening at school. Reports are reviewed by our school counselors, building facilitator, and administration so the team can follow up and determine next steps.

This form may be used for concerns such as peer conflict, bullying or harassment, safety concerns, or when a student needs help from an adult.

If families have concerns...

1. Start with the Teacher

For classroom questions, grades, assignments, behavior in class, or academic concerns, please begin by contacting your child’s teacher. Teachers can provide the most direct information about what is happening in class and what support may be needed.

2. Contact the Counselor

If the concern continues or involves social, emotional, peer, scheduling, attendance, or general student support needs, the school counselor is a great next step. Counselors can help problem-solve, support communication, and connect students and families with additional resources.

3. Contact Administration

If a concern remains unresolved or requires additional review, families may contact building administration. Administrators can help support next steps, review concerns, and work with families and staff toward a solution.

Family Support & Community Resources

Families sometimes need support beyond the school day, and we want you to know you are not alone. This may include help with food, clothing, hygiene items, beds, housing concerns, transportation, or connections to community resources.

If your family is experiencing a need, please contact our school social worker, Ms. Hilaire Reese. She can help listen, problem-solve, and connect families with available school and community supports.

You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We are here to help connect you with the right resources.
