Bell Schedule & Attendance
Daily Bell Schedule
Students should arrive at school with enough time to report to their assigned area and be ready for the start of the school day.
School Day Begins: 8:30 am
School Day Ends: 3:12 pm
Families are encouraged to review the daily bell schedule with their child so students know where they need to be throughout the day and can transition on time between classes.

Attendance Matters
Being present matters. Attendance impacts academic progress, relationships, participation, and a student’s overall connection to school. Missing school, arriving late, or leaving early can make it more difficult for students to keep up with classroom instruction and assignments.
We understand that students may need to miss school due to illness, appointments, or family circumstances. When absences occur, families should submit an excuse note within three school days of the absence.
Submitting Attendance Notes
Excuse notes may be turned in to the main office or emailed to the CMMS attendance office.

If your child was seen by a doctor, we encourage families to request a paper excuse before leaving the appointment or email a clear picture of the excuse directly to the school. Please note that faxes from doctors’ offices are not always reliable, so submitting a paper note or emailed picture helps ensure the excuse is received and processed correctly.
Late Arrivals and Early Dismissals
Students arriving late should report to the main office upon arrival. A parent or guardian should provide a note explaining the reason for the late arrival.
For early dismissals, families should send a note with the student or contact the main office in advance whenever possible. A parent or guardian must present their photo ID and sign the student out in the main office before the student leaves the building.
Educational Trips
Families requesting approval for an educational trip must complete the Family Educational Trip Request Form at least one week prior to the trip. Educational trip requests are reviewed based on student attendance, academic standing, and the educational purpose of the trip.
If approved, students are responsible for making up any missed assignments or classwork. Visit the Important Forms page for the required paperwork.

Alternative Bell Schedules
On certain days, CMMS may follow an alternative bell schedule due to weather delays, early dismissals, assemblies, testing, or other school events. These schedules help us adjust the school day while still providing students with structure and access to instruction.
Families are encouraged to review any schedule changes shared by the school or district. When alternative schedules are used, students should continue to report to school on time and follow the schedule provided for that day.
